Speak into your device, and Songify will turn your speech into a song.
Open Songify and your will see a large circle in the middle. Simply tap to begin recording your spoken voice. Songify will turn it into a song. The rainbow button allows you to access your saved songs. The guy with the hat button allows you to choose your song style. There are only 3 that come with the free version. There is the ability to purchase more songs within the app, but this should be disabled in the restrictions section in settings. The W button takes you to a social page where others have shared the songs they have created. There is inappropriate content in this part of the app, however it can be disabled-
Here is an Apptivity Task Card to use in your classroom:

Chicktionary Lite is a great ELA game that is very similar to Making Words. It allows students to create 3 letter words all the way up to the 7 letter word. I have attached an Apptivity Card with directions and a Student Recording Sheet for use in a center or station. This is definitely one of my favorites!

Instructional Uses:
- Animal Research
- Creative Writing Prompt
- Describing Characteristics of Landforms
- Word Families
- Beginning and Ending Sounds
- Five Senses
- Matter

Doodle Buddy-Free
Doodle Buddy is an app that allows you to type, draw, stamp, and upload pics (much like Kid Pix). I like to use it with PDFs that you add to iBooks. It also comes with many background images that would be great for generating writing prompts. You can use your finger, however, I have found it is easier to use the iPad stylus (about $14.00).

Corkulous- $4.99
While my husband was watching football on a Saturday afternoon (ugh), I decided to play around with this new app I found. It’s not free ($4.99), but it’s crazy cool. Corkulous is a great app for allowing students to explain Math, Science, or any other concepts they are learning in the classroom. It allows you to upload images, create post-it notes to explain information and works great with other apps such as Doodle Buddy if you want to add personal drawings. Here is an example I used to explain the water cycle:
The app also allows you to create a template as well as beginning a new project from scratch. I uploaded some images in dropbox that I know I wanted to include in this explanation. When I finished my corkboard, I saved the image in My Photos on the iPad. Then I opened Doodle Buddy, inserted my corkboard, and drew the arrows to represent the order of each process. The last step was to save the image again and email it to myself. It sounds tricky at first, but once you (and your kids) get the hang of it, the sky is the limit!
